Hello and welcome to my blog!  If you love discovering fresh places to visit, trying new things, and eating great food, you’ve come to the right place.

My name is Flo and I’m proud Midwesterner currently live in Chicago with my family.  I admit I didn’t always appreciate living in the Midwest.  Learning to live in the moment and appreciate my surroundings helped me to treasure what was in my backyard!

Chicago is a mecca for foodies, art lovers, shoppers, tourists, music lovers and beyond!  There’s so much to discover here!  In addition, the location allows easy access to other states and cities along the shores of Lake Michigan.  Basically, I can enjoy the best of many worlds.  A short train ride or drive puts me in Northwest Indiana, Michigan or Wisconsin, where I can explore the many trails, beaches, eateries, breweries, wine trails, and maybe learn a bit of history.  My favorite part is meeting the wonderful residents and business owners in these communities and hearing their stories.

I started my blog as an outlet for sharing the many gems and treasures of the Midwest in hopes that you’ll see the beauty and be inspired to visit or just be a tourist in your city!
